Intermarkets is looking for a Senior Account Executive to join the Intermarkets Ad Sales team. The Senior Account Executive’s primary responsibility will be successfully generating new business revenues in line with company goals, objectives, and strategy.  As a senior member of the Sales team, they will monitor the timely and accurate delivery of advertising campaigns to ensure customer satisfaction and overall campaign success. In addition to new accounts, they will be responsible for the maintenance of existing accounts including the development of new revenue opportunities, creation of value–add opportunities, and other mutually beneficial opportunities.  This is a full-time position working out of Intermarkets’ Reston office. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively prospect and close new accounts as identified within target markets and department goals/initiatives
  • Build and maintain a closable pipeline of new business
  • Effectively manage multiple customers and opportunities
  • Establish, maintain, and nurture existing accounts to encourage repeat business and account growth via cross selling and up selling
  • Meet and exceed budget assignments for defined territory or categories
  • Lead by example in the implementation of sales strategies and contributions to team-selling efforts to close business on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Assist Vice President of Direct and Programmatic Sales with creating accurate forecasting for assigned territory
  • Provide feedback to sales leadership and corporate marketing regarding ongoing strategies and promotions
  • Ensure proper execution of pricing, promotional programs, and insertion orders
  • Ensure all closed insertion orders are delivered in full and billed in a timely manner
  • Consistently input customer activity into SalesForce to capture measurable and informative data as well as track customer status
  • Effectively communicate with customers and colleagues to maintain the highest level of customer service and promote process efficiencies
  • Seek out opportunities for professional development for self and sales department
  • Maintain up-to-date and extensive knowledge of our industry, products, and services
  • Stay up-to-date with technical skills, process, and policies necessary to effect proper execution of tasks
  • Assist in sales interview process as needed
  • Act in a supporting role in mentoring and training of other sales team members as assigned and in general day-to-day department interactions
  • Ensure the promotion and maintenance of our products’ value, standards, and quality
  • Travel for client meetings, trade shows, and other activities as necessary
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7-10 years of experience in sales
  • Experience using Salesforce.com or similar CRM
  • Consistent track record of hitting goals and numbers
  • Technical proficiency in the area of web-based applications
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience building and maintaining a pipeline
  • Strong client service and relationship management skills
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented individual able to complete assigned tasks within appropriate timeframes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
